Haryana police crack down on Badshah’s ‘Tateeree’ after FIRs, 857 links removed
Haryanvi rapper Badshah is facing intense scrutiny as Haryana authorities take strict action against his controversial song ‘Tateeree’.
Following multiple FIRs and public backlash, the police have reportedly taken down 857 links, including 154 YouTube videos and 703 Instagram reels, to curb the song’s circulation.
The controversy erupted after the song, released on March 1, 2026, was labelled objectionable, vulgar, and degrading toward women and minors. The Haryana State Commission for Women even demanded Badshah’s arrest for failing to respond to multiple court summons.
Haryana Director General of Police Ajay Singhal emphasized the state’s zero-tolerance policy for content that undermines the dignity of women and minors. “Social media and digital platforms will be strictly monitored to prevent the spread of such content,” he stated.
Panchkula Commissioner and Additional DGP Shibash Kabiraj added that repeat offenders could face serious legal action, and their social media pages may be blocked or restricted.
Tateeree, a Haryanvi hip-hop track written by Badshah and directed by Mahi Sandhu and Joban Sandhu, features Badshah alongside Simran Jaglan. An FIR filed at the Cyber Police Station, Sector-20, Panchkula, triggered the police crackdown.
