A special team of DNA experts left Lahore for Karachi to identify the bodies of the people died in the PIA plane crash, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

On the other hand, PIA CEO Air Marshall Arshad Malik, on the special directives issued by Prime Minister Imran Khan, decided to pay one million rupees to the heirs of the each victim for funeral.

The PIA laws say Rs0.5 million should be paid for funeral but the amount has been increased in the case of latest Karachi plane crash.

This amount would be paid by the PIA district managers personally by visiting the homes of the deceased.

According to the PIA, they are able to contact 96 families while the doctors have so far identified 21 bodies.

Meanwhile, the DNA experts leaving for Karachi are from the University of Health Sciences, as the officials have confirmed the death of 97 passengers and crew members after recovering their bodies from the crash site.

Meanwhile, there are two passengers, including the Bank of Punjab president, who survived the horrifying crash. They are currently under treatment at two different hospitals where their condition is stated to be out of danger.
