ICC Champions Trophy 2025 set new viewership record
The ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan and the UAE recorded a total of 368 billion global viewing minutes, setting a new viewership record, reported 24NewsHD TV on Friday.
The new record is 19% more than the Champions Trophy held in England and Wales in 2017 which Pakistan won by defeating arch-rivals India by 180 runs.
The 2025 ICC Champions Trophy was the first ICC event to be held on Pakistani soil since 1996. In preparation for this event, key stadiums were renovated. Gaddafi Stadium, in particular, was given a complete make over in record time.
The final between India and New Zealand in the UAE saw a total of 65.3 billion global viewing minutes, a 52.1% increase over the 2017 final. According to ICC data, viewing minutes in Pakistan, the host country, saw a 24% increase.
