21 kidnapped miners rescued in Chagai

Twenty-one workers working with a contractor of a mining project in Chagai have been safely rescued after being abducted by unidentified armed men a few days ago, sources confirmed on Saturday.

According to sources, the workers were kidnapped from the Quetta-Taftan Highway while travelling in the region. Security officials and relevant authorities later recovered all 21 workers safely during an operation conducted on Saturday.

Sources clarified that the rescued individuals were not directly linked to any international mining company operating in the area. Instead, they were employed by a contractor working with the mining company.

It was revealed that the contractor’s agreement with the company had already expired.

No group has claimed responsibility for the abduction so far, while investigations into the incident are ongoing.
