Lahore police solve Rs180m robbery case, complainant found to be mastermind

Lahore police on Saturday claimed to have solved the mystery surrounding a reported robbery worth Rs180 million in the Kahna area, revealing that the man who reported the crime was allegedly the mastermind behind the incident, 24NewsHD TV reported.

According to police, the complainant, a property dealer, allegedly staged the robbery in an attempt to recover financial losses suffered in his business dealings.

Police said the suspect, along with two accomplices, had been arrested and that stolen cash and gold had been recovered during the investigation.

Police officials said the accused had planned the fake robbery and provided house keys to office employees who later carried out the operation.

The case initially appeared to be a major armed robbery, but investigators grew suspicious during questioning and evidence collection, eventually uncovering what police described as a staged crime.

Further investigation into the case is underway, police added.
