PTI, PML-N, PPP legislators join hands for financial gain in PA

Government and opposition members in the Punjab Assembly (PA) forgot their differences for financial gain and become united to get a raise in salaries.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, the PA session was held on Tuesday in which the resolution for increasing the salaries of legislators was passed unanimously.

The resolution was moved by Nawaz League’s legislator Raheela Khadim Hussain and Speaker Ch Pervez Elahi also supported it.

Addressing in favour of the resolution, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) parliamentary leader Hassan Murtaza presented a grim picture of inflation and demanded raise in their salaries.

On this occasion, Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat in reply said that there was definitely inflation but not as much as the opposition was claiming.

During the PA session, the University of Lahore Amendment Bill, Rashid Latif Khan University Bill and Punjab Community Safety Bill were passed.

While Punjab Institute of Quran and Sirat Studies Amendment Bill has been referred to the standing committee for review.
