The Rawalpindi police have arrested a woman who rammed her vehicle into the Motorway Police personnel and ran away from the Motorway Toll Plaza on January 1, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The accused woman was arrested from Islamabad and shifted to Rawalpindi for further investigation.

The police took action after a video that went viral on social media two days ago showed a woman running her car over the Motorway Police officer after an altercation with officials.

An FIR was registered against the woman in Naseerabad police station of Rawalpindi.

According to the official, the woman was stopped at the Toll Plaza for speeding on January 1 and she ran her car over the on-duty personnel after trading harsh words.

The horrific incident has sparked outrage and condemnation across social media, calling for an action against the driver.

A case was registered against the woman in Nasirabad Police Station on the complaint of the Motorway Police personnel.
