The federal cabinet removed former prime minister and PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi from the Exit Control List (ECL) on Thursday.

The cabinet approved the circulation summary. Abbasi was allowed to visit America for 15 days. It was one-time permission granted to the PML-N leader. 

Khaqan Abbasi submitted an application to the government seeking removal of his name from the ECL. He said that he had to visit America to inquire about the health of his sister and brother-in-law who were tested positive for the coronavirus.
