The launching ceremony of the 4th Type-054 A/P frigate built by China for the Pakistan Navy was held at Hudong Zhonghua Shipyard, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday. 

As per the Pakistan Navy’s DGPR, the technologically advanced ship is fitted with the latest surface, subsurface, anti-air weapons, combat management system and sensors.

Commodore Rashid Mahmood Sheikh was the chief guest at the launching ceremony.

He lauded the support of the People’s Liberation Army of China (PLA-Navy), China Shipbuilding Trading Company and HZ Shipyard for timely completion of the warship. 

Commodore Rashid Mahmood said that induction of warships will strengthen Pakistan Navy’s maritime defence and deterrence.
