Al-Khidmat Foundation has organized Christmas celebrations across the country including flood-affected areas, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The foundation, a welfare wing of Jamat-e-Islami distributed Christmas gifts, winter package, and ration to as many as 1500 poor and deserving families.  The purpose of the distribution of gifts is to share the joy of Christian families, to give them a sense of security, and to promote interfaith solidarity and positive traditions in society.

Al-Khidmat Foundation Ehsanullah Waqas while wishing the Christian community a Merry Christmas, said that celebrating happiness is the basic right of every human being. 

Al-Khidmat distributes Eid gifts to the deserving and needy on the occasion of Eid, in the same way gifts are distributed on the occasion of Diwali and Christmas, he added. 

Al Khidmat is also distributing Christmas gifts to Christian families in the flood-hit areas, he disclosed. He said it is necessary to discourage religious hatred as much as possible and to promote tolerance and religious harmony. 

Ehsanullah Waqas added that Al Khidmat always strives to solve the problems of minorities within its scope at every opportunity.  Sakina Bibi, who participated in the event, said that Al-Khidmat organizes an event for us every year on the occasion of Christmas, in which sometimes clothes, sometimes beds and quilts, and sometimes rations are given.
