Injured Pakistani speedster Khurram Shahzad departs for home from Australia

Pakistani cricket team’s fast bowler Khurram Shahzad, who got injured during his debut Test at Perth, Australia, departed for Pakistan from Melbourne on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.


The speedster was ruled out of the Australia series due to injury to his left rib.


The 24-year-old impressed on his debut in Perth, finishing with match figures of 5-128, removing Steve Smith twice.


The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made plans for Khurram’s rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy, Lahore after consulting doctors in Australia.


It is relevant to mention here that fast bowler Khurram Shahzad complained of discomfort in his left side during the first Test.


Pakistan, who have not won a Test in Australia since 1995, have Hasan Ali and Mohammad Wasim in their squad as potential replacements for Shahzad.
