Polling starts in Lahore Press Club elections

Polling has started in the Lahore Press Club (LPC) elections 2024, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Polling will continue from 9am to 6pm. Two groups, Journalist Progressive Alliance and Pioneer Group, are contesting the LPC elections. Voting is going on to elect 6 executive and 9 governing body members in the elections in which over 2000 journalists will cast their votes.

Arshad Ansari is the presidential candidate of Journalist Progressive Alliance while Shahbaz Mian is contesting the election for presidency from the Pioneers Group, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Zahid Abid is the candidate for the seat of general secretary from Journalist Progressive Alliance while Shadab Riaz is contesting the polls for the same seat from Pioneers Group. Sheraz Hasnat and Ziaullah Khan Niazi are the candidates for the seat of senior vice president while Amjad Usmani and Rana Iqbal are fighting for the seat of vice president. Salik Nawaz and Shahid Chaudhry are contesting the elections for the seat of treasurer while Farrukh Ata Butt and Jaffar bin Yar are fighting for the seat of joint secretary.
