The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will issue an updated list of candidates today (Wednesday) who will contest Senate elections on March 3, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

However, the ECP has set February 25 as the last date for the Senate candidates to withdraw their nomination papers.

As 52 Senators will stand retired on March 11, the ECP will conduct elections for 48 Senate seats on March 3.

An interesting development may happen today as the Supreme Court, hearing a presidential reference seeking open ballot in Senate elections, may give its ruling.

On Tuesday, the apex court asked the counsels to conclude their arguments on Wednesday (today) as the voting day is drawing nearer.
