The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) issued arrest warrants of Saifullah Abro, a ruling PTI candidate for Sindh elections, over Multan Metro Project corruption case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
The corruption reference was filed in 2017.
Earlier in the day, cracks widened in PTI Sindh ranks after the party distributed Senate tickets as PTI Sindh leader Liaqat Jataoi accused Saifullah Abro of horse-trading.
Abro served a defamation notice on Liaquat Jatoi and sought Rs2 billion in damages for levelling baseless allegations of buying tickets for upcoming Senate polls.
“I have not received any legal notice from Saifullah Abro and reserves the right to take legal action,” Jatoi said in response. Jatoi said he will take legal action after consultations with his lawyers and a meeting of like-minded friends has been called where he will reveal the facts.
He said, “On what performance, Saifullah Abro was allotted a Senate ticket.”
Special Assistant to PM Shahbaz Gill also defended Saifullah Abro.
But now after the NAB warrants, what turn the situation will take is yet to be seen.
