Baloch folk singer Wasu Khan passes away

Renowned Balochi folk singer Wasu Khan Gajani passed away in Sukkur on Friday morning.

According to family sources, Wasu Khan's funeral prayer will be held at Goth Rustam Gajani.

The veteran folk singer was suffering from various health issues for a long period of time and was also a patient of asthma.

He got fame in Pakistani music industry after his appearance with singer Shehzad Roy in TV show ‘Wasu Aur Mein’.

Shehzad Roy discovered Wasu Khan from a village in Balochistan in 2011 and performed a famous song 'Apne Alu' along with him in his unique style.

Shehzad Roy took to twitter handle and shared the news of Khan’s death.

The tweet reads: “Wasu Khan passed away this morning. He was unable to read and write, but had great political intellect and wrote political satire. We will miss him. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un.”

Wasu Khan Gajani’s real name was Muhammad Waris and he belonged to the Goranari region of Sohbatpur, Balochistan.
