Health officer accused of sexual harassment in Khairpur

Lady Health Workers (LHWs) of Khairpur on Monday staged a protest demonstration against sexual harassment by District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Nadeem Ashraf Jokhiyo, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The protest demonstration was led by President of Khairpur Health Workers Ladies Wing Rabail Gill, Shabana Bardi, Ruqaiyya Fatima, Samina and Amanat Lashari.

During the protest, the protesting lady health workers accused the DHO of harassing their colleague Shabana Burdi and forced her to develop illicit relations with him.

They further said that the DHO who is a corrupt person adopted different methods to harass the lady health workers of the area.

They appealed Sindh health minister and chief secretary to remove the district health officer immediately and provide security and justice to the lady health workers.

Fire destroys seven houses

A huge fire broke out in Khairpur area of Dijikot in which seven houses were destroyed, burning all the household items and stored wheat and rice. Four cattle were also killed in the blaze.

The victims protested against the negligence of the fire-brigade personnel who did not reach the site despite several calls made to them.
