Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi terming law and order as his top priority has given special instructions to the authorities to control crime and artificial inflation in the province.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, CM Mohsin chaired a high-level meeting here in Lahore on Tuesday in which Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Inspector General (IG) of Police Usman Anwar, and CCPO Lahore Bilal Kamyana gave a special briefing on the law and order and price control situation.
Addressing the meeting, CM Mohsin said necessary administrative measures should be taken to control inflation as citizens of Punjab cannot be left at the mercy of profiteers and hoarders under any circumstances.
CM Mohsin said administrative officers should take indiscriminate action against those who create artificial inflation and must ensure the availability of essential commodities at fixed rates.
He also ordered to take all necessary measures to protect the life and property of the people and indiscriminate legal action should be taken against the accused involved in serious crimes in the province.
The CM said to control street crimes, the police have to perform duties in a very active manner and the accused involved in crimes against women and children should be dealt with with iron hands.
