CM Naqvi calls for enhancing trade ties with France

France’s ambassador to Pakistan Nicolas Galey called on Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Lahore on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Both discussed matters of mutual interest besides increasing cooperation between the two countries in different sectors.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said there existed extremely cordial relations between France and Pakistan. “There is a need to further strengthen these ties in various fields, including trade and commerce,” he said, adding, “Pakistan respects France’s cooperation in fields such as culture, tourism and water treatment.”

He said the country would welcome France’s cooperation for training the Punjab government officers and medical superintendents in management skills. “Pakistan wants to benefit from France’s expertise in agriculture so that it could increase its produce,” he added.

CM Naqvi also thanked the French envoy for assisting Pakistan in the restoration of dilapidated historical buildings.

France’s ambassador said that his country would increase cooperation with Pakistan for the restoration of historical sites.

He further said that France would consider starting training programme with the Punjab government.
