Bolan Mail narrowly escapes explosion near railway track in Sibi

A powerful explosion rocked the area near the Dingra railway track in Sibi on Thursday, moments after the Bolan Mail train passed through the site, narrowly avoiding a potentially catastrophic incident.

According to railway officials, bogie number 7 of the Bolan Mail suffered partial damage in the blast, but no casualties have been reported so far.

In the immediate aftermath, train operations were thrown into disarray. The Jafar Express coming from Punjab has been halted at Dera Murad Jamali, while the train heading from Quetta to Punjab is being held at Sibi, as a precautionary measure.

Railway officials confirmed that all train traffic on the affected route has been suspended until further notice. Security forces swiftly cordoned off the area, launching a sweep and security clearance operation. A railway inspection team has also departed for the blast site.

“Trains will only be allowed to proceed after the area is thoroughly cleared,” officials added, stressing that the safety of passengers remains the top priority.

An investigation into the cause and perpetrators of the explosion is underway.
