Members of Balochistan Assembly (BA) belonging to the opposition, who spent third night in a police lockup in Quetta on Wednesday, have asked the provincial government to either arrest them or seek an apology from them besides withdrawing the FIR registered against them, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
More than 250 people, including 17 opposition members and opposition leader Malik Sikandar, have been booked in the case of creating anarchy in Balochistan Assembly during the presentation of provincial budget on June 18.
Although the provincial government did try to reach out to the opposition and both sides also held talks, but they failed to produce any results.
The Balochistan home department tried to bring the opposition parliamentarians around. But Home Minister Langov’s dialogue with them remained fruitless.
Langov said that the provincial government wanted that all issues should be sorted on the floor of the assembly. He requested the opposition legislators to go to their houses.
But the opposition members were of the view that since the government lodged an FIR against them, now the police should put them behind the bars and there was no other way round.
