Punjab govt all set to outsource Orange Line Metro train stations

Punjab government is all set to outsource Orange Line Metro train stations in order to generate revenue, reported 24News HD TV channel on Thursday.
As per details, the government will outsource the stations of the Orange Line Metro train to private companies in order to generate revenue. The transport department said the billboards would not be installed at the train stations. It said that the contracts of the stations' outsourcing would be awarded to the private companies according to the orders of the Supreme Court. Only indoor corridors will be used for the purpose of generating revenue, said the transport department, adding that different private companies were being contacted in this regard.
The companies will be allowed to use indoor corridors of the stations for advertisement purposes as well as setting up tuckshops and shopping centres.
The line has 26 stations including two underground and 26 elevated. The total length of the Orange Line Metro is 27.1.
