CM Maryam seeks emergency security plan for Muharram

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday presided over a special meeting to review arrangements for Muharram, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

During the meeting held in Lahore, the Chief Minister summoned an emergency plan regarding security arrangements.

Maryam Nawaz directed to ensure complete implementation on Code of Conduct and to adopt a zero tolerance policy in this regard.

She further directed to arrest of all those persons who spread hate material on social media.

The Chief Minister directed to ensure the implementation of ban on displaying banners and posters and wall-chalking.

She said that anyone who is found in flying a drone should be arrested on the spot.

She directed that all provincial ministers, commissioners, deputy commissioners, Regional Police Officers (RPOs), and District Police Officers (DPOs) should ensure the maintenance of law and order.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister directed to timely issuance of traffic advisories and traffic management.

Maryam Nawaz said that during the rainy season, relevant officials should ensure the timely drainage of rainwater.

Maryam Nawaz directed to take measures for Hotel Eye and Travel Eye and continue combing operations.

The Chief Minister directed that complete implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) should be ensured.

Maryam Nawaz directed to start an emergency operation against hanging electric wires.

The Chief Minister directed relevant officials to ensure a non-stop electric supply during the Ashura processions and majalis.

Maryam Nawaz directed that a control room should be established on the divisional, district levels. She said that she will pay a surprise visit to any control room.

She lauded all deputy commissioners, officials of local government, and other relevant departments for showing outstanding performance during Eidul Azha.
