CDA announces increase in bus fares

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has made an 100 per cent increase in the fare of green, blue, orange and electric buses in Islamabad with effect from May 26.

The CDA announced a hike in one-way fares from Rs50 to Rs100 for all metro and electric buses operating on 17 routes across the capital.
Officials said 90,000 passengers travel in CDA buses daily.

The CDA will pay Rs1.5 to Rs2.5 billion in annual subsidies despite the increasing fares of buses.

A CDA spokesperson said urban transport fares will remain unchanged.

The notification has been issued by the Punjab government.
