Influencer issues stark warning after robbery ordeal on US road trip
Influencer and former Strictly Come Dancing star Saffron Barker has issued a stark warning to fellow travellers after enduring a terrifying robbery during a road trip across the US.
The 24-year-old content creator was journeying from Los Angeles to Las Vegas with her model boyfriend Josh Miln when the incident occurred. The couple had rented a car to explore the iconic Route 66 but were left shaken after a brief stop turned into a nightmare.
While visiting the famed Peggy Sue’s 50s Diner, a well-known tourist attraction along the route, the couple returned to find their rental car completely smashed and ransacked. All their belongings—including luggage, electronics, and personal items—had been stolen.
In a YouTube video posted after the ordeal, Barker described the experience as traumatic and said she was “grateful to be alive.”
“We keep saying how lucky we are – we could have been held at gunpoint.”
The influencer shared the incident not just to update her fans but to warn others who might be planning similar trips. "Think twice before stopping off along Route 66," she urged, highlighting that even iconic and popular tourist spots may not be as safe as they seem.
The couple have since returned safely and are reportedly cooperating with authorities, though no arrests have yet been made. Fans flooded Barker’s comment section with support and shared concern over the rise in thefts targeting tourists in major US travel corridors.
