PSL 2025 final today: Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators eye title

The stage is set for a thrilling finale of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 as Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators prepare to face off in the final showdown at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, today (Sunday).  

Both franchises are chasing a third PSL title, having previously lifted the trophy twice each. 

This final marks the fourth PSL final appearance for both sides, underscoring their consistent presence at the top of Pakistan’s premier T20 competition.

Quetta Gladiators, last crowned champions in 2019, have returned to the final after a six-year gap. 

Their road to the final began with an emphatic 30-run victory over defending champions Islamabad United in the first playoff.

 Faheem Ashraf emerged as the star performer, showcasing his all-around prowess and propelling Quetta into their first final since their maiden title win.

Lahore Qalandars, on the other hand, secured their place in the final with a dominant performance against Islamabad United in the third playoff. 

The Qalandars thrashed their opponents by a massive 96-run margin in front of their home crowd at Gaddafi Stadium on Friday. 

The PSL has seen both Lahore and Quetta rise to prominence over the years. Quetta won their first PSL title in 2019, defeating Peshawar Zalmi, while Lahore claimed back-to-back titles in 2022 and 2023, defeating Multan Sultans on both occasions. 

The two teams also share a bit of history in PSL finals — Quetta lost the 2017 final to Peshawar, while Lahore suffered defeat in their first final appearance in 2020 against Karachi Kings.

 As anticipation builds for the 2025 finale, all eyes are on whether Lahore will clinch their third title in four years, or if Quetta will mark their return to glory with a long-awaited victory.
