Veteran Pakistani writer Nasir Adeeb has stirred strong reactions online after sharing his bold views on family values, relationships, and long-term affairs during a recent conversation.
Speaking candidly on the topic, Nasir Adeeb said that no one has the right to secretly continue a years-long relationship without involving their family, especially when the matter is serious enough to lead toward marriage.
According to him, liking or loving someone is not wrong, as Islam allows individuals the freedom to choose a life partner.
However, he stressed that such relationships should remain within certain boundaries and should eventually be discussed openly with family members instead of being continued secretly for years.

During the conversation, the veteran writer stated that if his own daughter were involved in a similar situation, he still would not support her actions.
“Even if my own daughter did something like this, I would not support her,” Nasir Adeeb remarked firmly.
He further shared that his daughter is also part of the entertainment industry, but according to him, no woman should be dragged into unhealthy situations under the name of love or relationships.
Nasir Adeeb explained that if a woman genuinely likes someone, she should openly tell her family about the person she wants to marry.
He added that if the family opposes the marriage unfairly, then seeking legal support through the court is completely acceptable.

However, he criticized the idea of secretly continuing personal meetings and relationships for years without clear commitment or family involvement.
The controversy surrounding Momina Iqbal recently escalated into a major legal matter after the actress reportedly approached the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in Lahore over allegations related to online harassment, cyberbullying, digital threats and mental pressure.
According to circulating reports, the legal team representing the accused political figure has denied the allegations and presented counterclaims regarding the nature of their alleged relationship.

However, Momina Iqbal’s side has strongly rejected those claims and maintained that the actress became the target of threats and harassment after distancing herself from the individual.
The case gained further public attention after Maryam Nawaz Sharif reportedly directed authorities to ensure a transparent investigation based strictly on evidence and legal merit without political influence.
