Momina Iqbal’s sister breaks silence on harassment controversy

Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal’s sister and legal counsel, Rimsha Iqbal, has publicly spoken out over the ongoing harassment and cybercrime controversy, strongly defending her sister while condemning online abuse, threats and character assassination campaigns.

Speaking emotionally about the matter, Rimsha Iqbal made it clear that public opinions and online narratives hold no value for her when it comes to standing beside her sister.

She strongly condemned the personal attacks, trolling, and character assassination allegedly directed toward both herself and Momina Iqbal throughout the controversy.

According to Rimsha, such tactics are often used to mentally pressure women and damage their reputation whenever they choose to speak up or fight for their rights publicly.

“I do not care what people think, even if the whole world stands against us. I will never tolerate anyone speaking nonsense about my sister or my family,” she stated firmly.

The lawyer further explained that women are often discouraged from raising their voices because society wrongly expects them to remain silent in difficult situations.

She added that many women silently suffer similar experiences but choose not to speak publicly due to fear of humiliation and social backlash.

Rimsha also thanked the large number of supporters who reached out with encouraging messages during the difficult time.

At the same time, she issued a strong message to the accused party, saying that harassment campaigns, online attacks and “cheap tactics” would neither frighten them nor weaken their determination to continue the legal battle.

“I will stand by my sister till the very end. Everything will be presented before the court with evidence, and the truth will eventually come out,” she said.

During the conversation, Rimsha further claimed that several women had privately contacted her, sharing similar experiences of alleged harassment and emotional pressure but admitting they were too afraid to speak openly.

She also expressed disappointment over the alleged character assassination she faced despite being a lawyer legally representing her sister in the case. According to Rimsha, the criticism intensified because women were standing publicly against powerful individuals.

The controversy surrounding Momina Iqbal recently escalated into a major legal matter after the actress reportedly approached the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in Lahore over allegations related to online harassment, cyberbullying, digital threats and mental pressure.

According to circulating reports, the legal team representing the accused political figure has denied the allegations and presented counterclaims regarding the nature of their alleged relationship.

However, Momina Iqbal’s side has strongly rejected those claims and maintained that the actress became the target of threats and harassment after distancing herself from the individual.

The case gained further public attention after Maryam Nawaz Sharif reportedly directed authorities to ensure a transparent investigation based strictly on evidence and legal merit without political influence.
