Rain is expected in parts of Punjab and Gilgit-Baltistan during the next 24 hours, with showers also forecast in Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir and north-eastern Balochistan.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecast hot and humid weather in other southern parts of the country. Heavy rain may cause flooding in low-lying areas of Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Peshawar. Urban flooding also remains a risk in Lahore, Okara, Kasur, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Multan, Sahiwal, Gujranwala and Sialkot.

Flash floods may affect Dir, Chitral, Swat, Malakand, Abbottabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Dera Ghazi Khan. The PMD has also warned of landslides in the hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Murree and Azad Kashmir.

Heavy rain, hailstorms, strong winds and lightning may damage weak structures, the weather department said.
