Newly appointed COAS Gen Asim, JCSC Chairman Gen Sahir meet President, PM

Newly appointed Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir and Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff Committee (JCSC) General Sahir Shamshad separately called on President and Prime Minister on Thursday.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, after the signing of the summary by the President, the new JCSC Chairman Sahir Shamshad, and Army Chief General Asim Munir visited the Prime Minister's House and held meetings with the PM separately.
In the meetings, the PM congratulated Gen Sahir Shamshad Mirza and Gen Syed Asim Munir and expressed his best wishes for their new responsibilities as the top brass of the Pak Army.
The Prime Minister said that it is hoped that the armed forces under their command will deal with the challenges facing national security in an efficient manner.
PM Shehbaz Sharif also expressed hope that the armed forces will continue to play an important role in completely eradicating the menace of terrorism from the country under their command.
Later, both the top commanders of the Pak Army separately reached the President’s House to meet President Dr Arif Alvi.
President Alvi congratulated Sahir Shamshad Mirza on his promotion to the rank of General and appointment as the Chairman of the JCSC.
The appointment of Gen Sahir Shamshad as the Chairman of the JCSC will be effective from November 27, 2022.
The President also congratulated Syed Asim Munir on his promotion to the rank of General and his appointment as Army Cheif.
The appointment of General Asim Munir as the Chief of Army Staff will be effective from November 29, 2022.
Dr Arif Alvi also expressed his best wishes for their success as the JCSC Chairman and the Chief of Army Staff.
