Warehouse of defective cooking oil seized in Rawalpindi

The Food Authority Rawalpindi has seized a warehouse of defective cooking-oil in an early morning operation, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

According to spokesperson, the operation was carried out based on a long investigation and intelligence information.

Spokesperson said about 500 liters of used oil was recovered from the warehouse, which was destroyed on the spot. 

The warehouse was secretly built near the Safdarabad Nala Lai which was seized.

The used oil was repackaged in boxes of a well-known brand.

The oil was to be supplied to large snacks and frying units. 

A case was registered against the accused in the police station and one person was arrested.

However, no record of the used oil was recovered from the spot.
