IGP visits Punjab Safe City Authority headquarter

Punjab Inspector General of Police Inam Ghani said that Safe City is a masterpiece of information technology in terms of traffic management and crime control in accordance with the principles of modern policing to protect the lives and property of citizens, maintain law & order.
He expressed these views while issuing instructions to the officers on a visit to Safe City Authority at Qurban Lines on Thursday. Safe City MD Additional IG Rao Sardar and COO Safe City Authority Muhammad Kamran Khan and other officers were also present on the occasion.
The IGP said that by making full use of the monitoring of CCTV cameras installed on all major highways and important places of Lahore, not only street crime could be further reduced but also traffic accidents could be reduced. The officers of Lahore Police, Traffic Police and Safe City Authority should work together to protect the lives of the citizens and achieve the best results with the best possible coordination. He further said that Chief Traffic Officer Lahore and Safe City Authority officers should formulate more effective strategies to maintain uninterrupted flow of traffic in the city while Dolphin and Patrol Force officers should sit in Safe City Authority and keep close liaison with the monitoring from time to time so that they can help the needy citizens in the best possible way.
MD Safe Cities Authority Rao Sardar Ali Khan briefed IG Punjab about the work of various departments besides e-challaning and traffic management system while IG Punjab from Safe Cities Authority’s Operation and Monitoring Center viewed various places of the city.
Inam Ghani also spoke to the citizens who came to get the video of Safe City cameras and inquired about the problems faced by them and the attitude of the personnel.
