Nepra raises power tariff by Rs1.62 per unit
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) on Thursday increased power tariff by Rs1.62 per unit.
The increase in electricity prices was made for the year 2019-20 in terms of quarterly adjustment.
The increase in electricity prices will impose an additional burden of Rs 162 billion on consumers. The price hike will take effect after notification from the federal government, said Nepra. Fuel adjustments for 2018-19 will end after the new increase is applied, it said. Ending the previous adjustment will not affect the new additions to consumers.
