Karachi software house owner arrested for detaining girl, firing on family

High drama unfolded in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area when the owners of a software house allegedly detained a girl and opened fire on her parents as they tried to rescue her yesterday night.

Police reached the scene in time, recovered the girl, and arrested the owner, the manager, and three accomplices involved in the incident, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.

According to details, the incident occurred inside a software house in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, where the girl was reportedly kept in confinement.

When her family arrived to take her home, the owner of the software house opened fire on them. Police, upon receiving the information, reached the spot, freed the girl, and arrested the suspects.

The sequence of events began when the detained girl secretly contacted her family by mobile phone around 9 pm, pleading for help.

Her relatives rushed to the software house, but the owners locked the door from inside and refused to release her. When the family attempted to break open the locked door, the owners resorted to firing.

The family then called the police, who immediately reached the scene and managed to recover the girl safely while taking the accused into custody.

Later, the girl’s father, Shoaib Hussain, lodged a formal complaint at the Gulshan-e-Iqbal Police Station.

In the FIR, he alleged that the owners of the software house had been harassing his daughter and then unlawfully confined her inside the office.

He added that his daughter worked at the software house while he was employed in a private job.

According to the FIR, the manager of the software house, Daniyal, had been making inappropriate advances toward his daughter for a long time, a matter she had discussed with her cousin and brother.

When her brother confronted Daniyal over the phone, Daniyal allegedly issued threats. On September 23, when the girl reached the software house, Daniyal once again threatened her.

That night, when the family came to rescue her, the owners locked the premises and opened fire as the relatives tried to force entry.

Police confirmed that the girl was recovered safely and the suspects, including the software house owners, were arrested at the spot.

A case has been registered at the Gulshan-e-Iqbal Police Station against Daniyal, Salman, Imran, and Zulqarnain for unlawful confinement and opening fire.
