Second phase of teacher rationalisation to begin next week in Punjab

The Punjab School Education Department has announced that the second phase of teacher “rationalisation” will begin next week, with educators being transferred from overstaffed schools to those facing staff shortages.

According to official directives, a detailed report has been sought from all Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) and District Assistant Education Officers (DAEOs) after several teachers failed to join their new postings during the first phase. The department has warned that strict action will be taken against teachers who refuse to comply with transfer orders.

The Director Monitoring has instructed officials to complete the registration and verification of student enrollment on the central education system (CESS) within two days and to ensure implementation of orders without delay.
