The mystery of kidnapped US-Pakistani lady Wajiha Swati has been resolved after the confession of her murder from her ex-husband for the property.

The 24News HD TV channel reported on Saturday that the abducted lady’s ex-husband Rizwan Habib has confessed in police custody and pointed out that the dead body was buried in Dera Ismail Khan.

The victim was kidnapped from Rawalpindi after arriving here from England on October 16 on British Airways’ flight number BA-0261.

She was planned to return to the UK on October 22 on the same airline's flight number BA-0260.

She reached Pakistan for resolving a property dispute with her ex-husband. Wajiha made her last contact on phone with one of her friends on October 11.

Initially, her ex-husband Rizwan registered a case of her abduction in the Morgah Police Station in Rawalpindi nine months ago in which she was recovered.

Rizwan nominated a man named Amjad Ali as accused in the FIR. After her release, Wajiha left the country and now returned here again for resolving her property issues in Pakistan where was kidnapped a second time in October.

This time, the victim lady’s elder son Abdullah Mehdi made a complaint about her mother’s kidnapping in the same Morgah Police Station. Wajiha Swati’s ex-husband Rizwan Habib was named in the case.

Rawalpindi police produced accused Rizwan before the court of judicial magistrate Zaheer Safdar and obtained four-day physical remand of him last Wednesday.

During the investigation in police custody, the accused confessed to Wajiha’ killing after an abduction.

To discuss the development in the case, some of the US embassy officials have also met with City Police Officer Rawalpindi Sajid Kiyaniand Senior Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Syed Ghazanfar Abbas who shared the progress in this regard.
