Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday constituted a special seven-member committee of ministers to ensure implementation of the austerity policy, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

Members of the committee are: Ishaq Dar, Rana Tanvir, Aminul Haq, Azam Nazir Tarar, Qamar Zaman, Hashim Notezai.  

The committee will meet after every two months to review progress made on the policy devised to cut down expenditures in view of fragile economic situation of the country. 

The committee will then compile a report on the status of implementation on the policy. 

All principal accounting officers will give suggestions to the committee as to how the austerity drive could be made successful. 

The committee will present its initial report to prime minister day after tomorrow (Monday, February 27, 2023).
