Fahad Mustafa apologizes on-air after Odho remarks
Fahad Mustafa issued a heartfelt apology to veteran actress Atiqa Odho following his controversial remarks during a live segment of his game show Jeeto Pakistan.
Fahad expressed admiration for Atiqa, calling her “the most beautiful woman of Pakistan” and emphasizing his regret over sarcastic comments that had sparked widespread criticism online.
During the episode, he addressed Atiqa directly, saying, “Atiqa Apa, you are our senior, we all love you and there is no doubt that you are the most beautiful woman of Pakistan.
In front of you, I feel humbled. May Allah keep you happy. I love you, God bless you. I apologize to you.”
Atiqa Odho responded on social media, urging the public to “forgive and forget.”
She admitted that her earlier comments may have “struck a nerve” with Fahad and wrote, “Fahad is a talented and hardworking professional. He reacted emotionally and I feel sad that public figures can’t say anything light-heartedly without being attacked.
If I unintentionally hurt him or anyone else, I apologize. Let’s forgive and forget. We are only human and to err is human.”
She also reflected on the challenges of social media and emphasized the importance of supporting one another during uncertain times.
The controversy began after Atiqa suggested in an interview that Fahad should consider working with actresses closer to his age.
During a live segment of Jeeto Pakistan, Fahad responded with a sarcastic remark implying that Atiqa should undergo cosmetic surgery before he would play her on-screen hero. Actress Urwa Hocane later criticized Fahad’s comments, calling them a form of age-shaming, which further fueled the online debate.
The public apologies from both Fahad Mustafa and Atiqa Odho have now brought the matter to a close, highlighting professionalism, respect and humility in the industry.
