Senior govt officer shot dead in Peshawar

A senior government officer was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Peshawar on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Senior Planning Officer of Social Welfare Department Humayun was on his way in precincts of Gulbahar Police Station when his officials car was sprayed with bullets by the attackers.

Humayun was seriously injured and breathed his last while being shifted to a hospital.

The armed motorcyclists were succeeding in fleeing the crime scene after the attack, the police said.

Policemen killed in firing

A policeman was gunned down while he was on his way to drop his children to a school van stop outside his house in Peshawar on Thursday.

Unknown gunmen targeted Kamran Taj, who was a computer operator at Khan Razaq Shaheed Police Station in Peshawar’s suburban area of Gulbela.

SP Rural Division Zafar Ahmed Khan said that the attackers escaped into nearby fields.
