Chinese envoy Zhao Shiren calls on Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi

Chinese Consul General Zhao Shiren called on Federal Interior Minister and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi in Lahore on Sunday, reaffirming the strength of Pakistan-China bilateral relations, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

During the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi paid tribute to Zhao Shiren for his services as the Chinese Consul General and expressed best wishes for him, appreciating his role in further strengthening ties between the two countries.

The Chinese Consul General praised Mohsin Naqvi’s efficiency and leadership, saying that everyone recognizes his remarkable speed and effectiveness. 

He said Naqvi had played a valuable role in enhancing Pakistan-China relations, both during his tenure as Punjab chief minister and now as the federal interior minister.

Zhao Shiren described his stay in Pakistan as pleasant and memorable, noting that his experience in Lahore had been particularly meaningful.

Mohsin Naqvi, in return, said that Zhao Shiren’s absence would be deeply felt in Lahore and described their relationship as brotherly. He said bilateral relations between Pakistan and China were progressing steadily in areas of mutual interest.

The interior minister also recalled his recent visit to China, saying that his three-and-a-half-hour meeting with Chinese Minister of Public Security Wang Zhaohong was pleasant and productive. He added that he plans to visit China again in September to continue engagement with Chinese leadership.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi presented Zhao Shiren with a cricket bat signed by Pakistani players, while the Chinese Consul General gifted him a book authored by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
