Govt decides to launch Sohna Punjab project after Suthra Punjab

The Punjab government has decided to launch the Sohna Punjab project under the Punjab Development Program after Suthra Punjab, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
The scope of development projects has been expanded across Punjab.
Development projects worth Rs304 billion will be included in 52 cities under the Punjab Development Program.
The Punjab government has approved development projects in 51 cities
All districts of Punjab have started work at a cost of Rs302 billion
Tenders have been approved in 11 cities by January 8, 2026, while development works have started under the Punjab Development Program.
Financial evaluation has been completed in 17 cities of Punjab, and contractors have been mobilised.
Financial evaluation has been finalised in 10 more cities where mobilisation has been started.
Financial bids of 13 cities of Punjab will be opened on January 22, 2026.
A historic project of sewerage system in Punjab, a target of laying 5397 kilometres of sewer lines has been set.
Various cities' 181 km of stormwater drainage projects have been included
56 new and 61 sewage disposal stations will be constructed and renovated.
As many as 323 MGD capacity wastewater treatment plants will be included in various cities.
About 6100 km of roads and streets will be constructed and renovated in the districts and 21 MW solarization project will be completed at various locations which will lead to significant energy savings.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has ordered the completion of the project to make Punjab more beautiful by June 2026.

Provincial and district control rooms will be established to ensure the implementation of the Punjab Development Plan.
