Sindh govt to receive Russia’s Sputnik vaccine in a week

As many as 17 passengers from Saudi Arabia who arrived at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport on Friday tested positive for the coronavirus, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

However, according to sources in Sindh Health Department, authorities at the airport, in blatant violation of the standard operating procedures (SOPs), instead of asking those testing negative to quarantine, sent them home.

Meanwhile, Karachi’s Khaliq Deena Vaccination Center head Dr. Farhat Abbas Shah has said that after Pfizer, the Sindh government will receive doses of Russia’s Sputnik vaccine in a week.

Talking to 24News TV channel, he said prior to that Sputnik vaccine was being administered to people by the private sector hospitals.

He said right now Pfizer vaccine was not available at his center. “However, the vaccine can be found at Dow, expo center and SIUT,” he informed.
