Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Friday foiled the supply of contaminated milk to different parts of Rawalpindi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In this connection, Dairy Safety teams stopped the milk-carrying vehicles by setting up checkposts at several points on city roads, obtained milk samples, and when they turned out to be contaminated, disposed of 3, 000 liters of milk on the spot.

Talking to the media, PFA DG Rafaqat Ali Nasowana said that the milk which had been brought from Mandi Bahauddin and Sargodha had water and chemicals mixed in it.

He informed heavy fines were imposed on three milk transporting vehicles for violating the rules and regulations.

He told province-wide crackdown was underway to stop the supply of contaminated milk. “People playing with people’s health will not be allowed to work,” he said categorically.
