Dow University students protest against massive fee hike

Students of Karachi’s Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) on Saturday protested against the massive increase in fees, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the announcement by the university administration, the fees have been increased from 60,000 rupees to Rs100,000, leaving the students and their families in a state of financial distress.

During the protest demonstration, the students chanted slogans against the university administration outside the main gate of the DUHS.

The MBBS students said that no notification was given to them, nor they were provided any information before increasing the fees.

The tuition fee had surged from 35,000 rupees to 38,000 whereas the transport fee which was earlier Rs20,000 has now soared to Rs32,000.

Furthermore, the additional charges for library usage and student activities have been added for the first time.
