FO urges media to refrain from speculating on situation in Middle East

Regretting that speculations and rumours were being spread about Pakistan’s role in defusing the crisis in the Gulf and the Middle East, the Foreign Office (FO) on Wednesday said that these media outlets should refrain from making such speculations and rumour mongering, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The FO Spokesman Tahir Hussain Andrabi said that secrecy was of extreme importance in diplomacy and negotiations. “Therefore, media men should wait for official announcements in this regard,” he stressed.
The spokesman said that the FO had received numerous calls for comments and the confirmation of unverified news. “Therefore, journalists are requested to stop speculating,” he added.
