Swat University VC removed from office by KP governor

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Shah Farman has removed the vice-chancellor of Swat University on the charges of financial misappropriations and unlawful recruitments, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Reportedly, the inquiry report found Vice-Chancellor Swat University Dr Jamal Khan guilty in cases of financial embezzlements and illegal staffing.
KP Governor Farman acting upon the inquiry report sent Swat University vice-chancellor on 90-day forced leave, according to a press release issued on Tuesday.

In compliance to governor’s orders, the higher education department issued notification in this regard.
Dr Hassan Sher, dean of Life Sciences, has been appointed as pro-vice chancellor of Swat University, according to the press release.
Governor Shah Farman seems to be in habit of sending the vice-chancellors of universities on forced leave as he did it last month when he sent Gomal University Vice-Chancellor Dr Iftikhar Ahmed on 90 days forced leave and assigned the extra charge of the university’s vice chancellorship to the newly established Dera Ismael Khan Agricultural University VC Prof Dr Masroor Elahi Babar.

Dr Iftikhar was not happy with the governor’s decision to bifurcate Gomal University into an agricultural university and wrote a letter to Prime Minister Imran Khan.
