Jamiat-i-Ulema Islama-Fazl chief Fazlur Rehman and former president Asif Ali Zardari had a meeting on Tuesday.
The JUI-F chief greeted the former president on the engagement of the latter’s daughter and enquired him. The two leaders also discussed the current political situation in the country.
Fazl is the chief of the 11-party opposition alliance that has been on a campaign tattled Pakistan Democratic Movement, to oust the PTI government for, what the union calls, having come into power through ‘unfairly’.
Last month, Zardari phoned Fazl and thanked him for playing his part in keeping opposition parties’ alliance intact in a difficult time.
They talked about the situation in wake of the arrest of Safdar, son-in-law of ex-PM Nawaz Sharif, in Karachi after the second PDM meeting.
The ex-president also expressed his gratitude to the JUI-F chief for standing by the PPP in such a critical situation. Fazl assured Zardari of continuing playing his part for the cause and said the issue of the Sindh police would also be taken up.
