Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Friday submitted another letter to the Islamabad administration seeking permission for Imran Khan’s landing and take-off on a helicopter in the federal capital, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
“In case of any emergency, the helicopter must be close to the place of the public meeting,” read the letter.
The letter was written by PTI leader Ali Nawaz Awan to the Islamabad deputy commissioner. It demanded the landing and take-off of Imran Khan’s helicopter from 11am to 5pm on November 26.
Earlier, the Islamabad administration had Thursday refused to give permission for Imran Khan’s landing on a helicopter in the capital to lead the PTI’s long march on November 26.
The administration had also issued a notification in which it stated that Imran Khan's helicopter could not be allowed to land on the Parade Ground in Islamabad.
The administration had also given conditional permission for the public meeting on November 26 at Parade Ground in Islamabad.
As per the condition mentioned in the notification, only the rallies coming from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) will be allowed to pass through the limits of the federal capital.
“Any kind of rally and public gathering is prohibited within the limits of Islamabad, and the PTI rallies will be allowed to pass on the proposed route only,” the notification had added.
Meanwhile, PTI leader Asad Umar told the media that tents had been set up at the place for the public meeting.
“The number of people coming to Rawalpindi tomorrow will be the biggest ever. The way the nation has fought for the past many months, it shows the nation understands that we are at an important turning point,” he said.
“Women are being threatened not to upload posts on social media,” he deplored.
“Preparations will be completed today. The GHQ has allowed that Imran Khan can hold a rally in the parade ground. [But] the Islamabad administration says that they will not allow the helicopter to land in the parade ground,” he added.
“The Islamabad deputy commissioner is the officer who is saying that helicopters will not be allowed to land. Imran Khan’s life is in more danger, and therefore he is not being allowed to land at a safe place,” he abhorred.
“The DC is getting orders from somewhere else. He should tell the people what he wants,” he castigated.
Asad Umar asserted that Imran Khan’s helicopter would land in the parade ground, adding that Imran Khan would tell about the future course of action the following day.
“If anything happens to Imran Khan, the federal government will be responsible for that. The gunshot wound that hit Imran Khan in the bone will take time to recover,” he averred.
