Four killed, several injured in Quetta blast

At least four people were killed while several got injured in an explosion in Hazar Ganji area of Quetta Sunday, reported 24NewsHd TV Channel.

According to the initial reports, a bomb planted in a motorcycle went off that killed four people while many vehicles caught fire due to the blast.

The police and rescue teams have rushed to the area to assess the situation and provide assistance to the injured persons. The security forces have cordoned off the area and started search and rescue operation.

The blast has occurred at a time when opposition’s alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement has been holding its third rally of ongoing series of the rallies against the government at Ayub Stadium in Quetta.

Earlier, the provincial government had asked the PDM to postpone the rally after Nacta issued a terror threat alert for the political leaders of the opposition parties.

The provincial government has also banned pillion riding and suspended the mobile and internet services in the provincial capital to avoid any terrorist activity.
