Five children drown, another missing in Karachi’s Surjani area

Five children drowned and another was reported missing in a pond made illegally in Karachi on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The incident was reported from Surjani Sector 7-D in the provincial capital. The bodies of the children have now been shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
The deceased have been identified as Asad son of Farid Ahmed aged 09, Maqsood son of Farid Ahmed aged 13, Zubair son of Abdul Ghaffar aged 14, Arman son of Tahir age 13 and Abdullah son of Tariq aged 11.
Edhi and Chippa divers searched the pond, made illegally by a construction company, after reports said that another child was missing.
According to eyewitnesses, there were six children and bodies of only five were recovered. So far no one filed a complaint regarding a missing child but police have cordoned off the area and have taken the statements of local residents.
