Karachi hospital CMO tests positive for coronavirus

Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Karachi’s Abbasi Shaheed Hospital tested positive for the coronavirus on Sunday prompting the authorities to seal the emergency department of the hospital by around 3pm, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
It is pertinent to note that Abbasi Shaheed Hospital is Karachi’s largest public health facility.
It has been decided that all staffers in the hospital would be tested to stem the further spread of the deadly respiratory virus.
As per the NIH, at least 253 including 124 doctors, 39 nurses and 90 health workers have been infected by the novel virus across Pakisan.
Similarly, three more health workers at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) tested positive for the coronavirus on Sunday.
Two nurses and a paramedic have been diagnosed as COVID-19 positive taking the doctors and paramedics tally infected with virus in the heart hospital to 32.
